This blog is the first of many that will share with you some of our favorite spots in the Riviera Maya. Whether it be the best spot for breakfast or our favorite beach club, we hope these blogs will give you an insight into what life is like in Playa del Carmen and Tulum. If you live here full time, just a few months out of the year, or are just visiting for a week or two, we want you to add these spots to your list of “must-visit” places during your time in paradise. This week, we’ll share with you our favorite beach club in Tulum. 

A relatively new beach club, Cinco Tulum just opened in August 2020 and has been a success since Day 1. What makes Cinco so special? The list is long. Cinco Tulum is located on the Ruins side of Tulum, so as you head to the beach road, you take a left instead of a right. With considerably less traffic, the time it takes to get to Cinco is minimal AND they have parking available if you have a rental car. Next, the details. Not one thing has been overlooked in the style, menu, and service of this cute beach club. As you approach the restaurant area, you’ll notice the comfortable seating and touches of Tulum style, you’ll be greeted with a smile from Leah, the hostess, and during your time at Cinco, don’t be surprised if one of the owners approaches you to make sure everything is perfect. To spend the day at Cinco Beach Club and use their chairs, umbrellas, and/or beach beds the minimum consumption is just 500 pesos.

Some of our favorite lunch choices are the shrimp tacos with cheese, the skirt steak gringas, the ribeye burger, and the whole fish. Not one thing on the menu is bad and the prices are reasonable. The drinks are cold and the service comes with a smile, the servers are incredibly attentive, sitting with an empty beer or margarita is unheard of.

Be sure to notice the fun details like the Cinco beer cooler, filled with cold cervezas and perfect for photo ops as well as the sorbet stand, where you can get a dish of delicious, gluten-free, vegan coco sorbet.
